Today we have officially launched our ‘Run off the Blues’ 2022 event. This is a food bank fundraising event whereby Barod staff, volunteers and people who access our services commit to achieving a specific step target, from from 75,000 (ave. 2,500 steps per day) to 800,000 (ave. 26,000 steps per day) steps, throughout January.
Our ‘Run off the Blues’ annual food bank fundraiser is also an opportunity to step out of Christmas and into the New Year, as well as help with any of those new year’s resolutions you may be thinking about.
The January 2021 event saw a total of 36 staff, volunteers and people who access our service take part in the month-long challenge of walking, running, cycling, and even rowing, as far as they could. Collectively, we completed 3,864km and most importantly, raised over £600 for local food banks. Check out our video here from our 2021 event.
Our ‘Run off the Blues’ event is open to any Barod staff, volunteers or anyone who accesses any of our services, as well as staff who work for any of our consortium partners. If you fit that criteria and would like to take part in our 2022 event, and help Barod raise money for local food banks, then email info@barod.cymru for more information.
